Enjoy Umbria

Umbria has al lot to offer. Typical of the area are the rolling hills and the old walled hill towns with steep streets, beautiful churches and sturdy buildings. The medieval village of Gualdo Cattaneo is 2 km away. Here, you can pick up fresh bread, enjoy an espresso and visit the tower La Rocca, dating from the 14 th century. A ‘must see’ are the frescoes in the Chiesa San Agostino.

Lake Trasimeno is an ideal place for all types of water recreation. For brisk walks and for rafting you can visit the Sibillini mountains. From the Residenza you can easily visit beautiful cities such as Perugia (39 km), Assisi (37 km), Orvieto (39 km) and Spoleto (25 km). Rome (175 km) and Florence (195 km) are both about 2 hours drive away.

  • Il Mercato delle Gaite. Every year in the second half of June, the town of Bevagna will be the scene of a medieval festival.
  • A sturdy bike ride along Gualdo Cattaneo, Bevagna and Montefalco, with gradients of sometimes more than 15%. The Residenza has several mountain bikes free of charge
  • Festival dei Due Mondi. In Spoleto at the end of June/begining of July an international festival takes place with dance, music and visual arts.
  • Umbria Jazz Festival Perugia. At the end of July, Perugia for 10 days will be packed full of live performances of international jazz musicians.
  • Festival 'Genius Loci' in various locations, including Gualdo Cattaneo. The event combines music appearances with the tasting of local wine and delicacies
  • Eurochocolate in Perugia. A great combination of see how chocolate is made and also tasting it.
  • Horseback riding through vineyards and olive trees.
